Nina comes from a small Northern European Country called Latvia. From an early age she had a curious mind and a strong desire to teach.

She began her career in the early 1979, as an instructor at Youth Railroad in Riga, Latvia. Later in that year she joined a government kindergarten as an Early Childhood Educator. Through out her experience at the railroad and kindergarten Nina had kept the dream of teaching in the classroom alive, and in 1983 she begun to teach at the government operated school.

After 9 years of teaching grades 1 through 5 with a standard USSR method, she came across to an article in a local newspaper for an upcoming seminar to learn about a teaching method called Waldorf. “Waldorf Education is based on a profound understanding of human development that addresses the needs of the growing child. Waldorf teachers strive to transform education into an art that educates the whole child—the heart and the hands, as well as the head.”- whywaldorfworks.org. Nina tested the waters with this seminar and fell in love with the nurtering and more natural approach. From 1992 Nina had submerged herself into Waldorf pedagogy and gained various certifications from Latvia, Russia, Germany and Sweden. Nina holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Latvia and is Internationally Certified in Waldorf Pedagogy.

Nina came to United States in 2002, since then she has been actively involved in various seminars, and other self-development seminars. She has been organizing many events as “Mary Poppins” for private parties and is teaching Russian language at ORT Institute of Chicago. Also, Nina gives private lessons in Russian.
